Still having a hard time coming up with a script idea? Are the ideas in the Script Frenzy Plot Machine to far fetched for your taste? If you answered yes to both these questions, we suggest you make your own plot machine. All you need are a pair of scissors, a stack of magazines, a stack of your favorite books, paper, a pencil, and a paper bag.

Start by cutting out any interesting images, words, or phrases from the magazines. Then flip to random pages in your favorite books and write down sentences that stand out. Once you feel like you have enough phrases from your books, cut them out so each sentence is on its own little scrap of paper.

Then put all your images, words, and phrases in the paper bag. Ta-da! You have a plot machine. Pull three items and random and see if you can come up with a plot or a character or maybe just the first scene of your script.
