The Beat
Hi there, Frenzies! My name is Chris, and I'm one of the people behind the scenes here helping out with the Young Writers Program. And I've got some great news! A key new piece of the Script Frenzy machinery is now in the house. Yep: The partnering module is up and running. If you want to officially partner with another Script Frenzy participant, now's the time.
Just click the Edit tab on your Writer Profile. From there, find the "Writer Info" tab, where you'll see a magical new box where you can enter another Script Frenzy writer's username (hint: type slowly and let our auto-fill robots find the name for you). Once you've found your partner, just select him or her, and scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit Submit.
As soon as your writing partner does the same for you, you'll both be linked. Partners photos appear on each other's profiles (aww…), and when you enter a word count (starting June 1), your partner's word count will automatically update as well.
You can "unpartner" just by clearing your partner's name from your Writer Info tab. This will be true from late tonight until June 15th, at which point partnerships will be fused forever, like Han Solo in carbonite. Except really forever. Or at least until the next Script Frenzy. :)
Just a few hours until fade-in! Best of luck everyone!
Chris
Hello and welcome to the premiere of Script Frenzy, an Office of Letters and Light event! Yes, we are up and running worldwide. Actually, we are up and writing worldwide! The drama, the suspense, and even some comedy have been upon us these last few weeks as we have finalized the site you're seeing today. It is all worth it, as you can see. We’ve created an awesome site to address all your script writing needs and you may even learn a little (or a lot), too!
Many of you are new to scriptwriting and which is just fine! During the month of May we are running a Script Frenzy Boot Camp. The Boot Camp will introduce you to the essential elements of a screenplay (a movie) and a stage play (a play). You will have the opportunity to read about and even participate in valuable scriptwriting lessons before setting a word of your story down! By June 1st, we will have you prepared to take the reins and write your script!
