What is Script Frenzy?

Script Frenzy is an international writing event in which participants attempt the creatively daring feat of writing a script in the month of April. With a wild deadline fast approaching, writers chuck self-doubt and pesky editing tendencies right out the window, and lose themselves in the rush of creation.

As with all Office of Letters and Light events, Script Frenzy is free. This isn’t a beauty pageant, so there are no valuable prizes awarded or "Best Of" categories. Each and every writer who attempts their goal is victorious and awe-inspiring and will get a Script Frenzy Young Writers Program Participant Certificate and web icon proclaiming this fact. Really, you have nothing to lose—except knowing that you could have written a better movie, play, or TV show than the one you just watched, but didn’t.

The 5 Basic Rules of Script Frenzy's Young Writers Program

    1) To be crowned an official Script Frenzy Young Writers Program winner, you must set a page-count goal, achieve that page-count goal, and upload a version of your script on this site to verify your page count.
    2) You may write individually or with a partner.
    3) Script writing may begin no earlier than 12:00:01 AM on April 1 and must end no later than 11:59:59 PM on April 30, local time.
    4) You may write screenplays, stage plays, TV shows, short films, comic book scripts, radio scripts, adaptations of novels, or any other type of script your heart desires.
    5) You must, at some point, have ridiculous amounts of fun.
